Recent Figures Show Record Spending on Digital Advertising

Looking back on the digital advertising industry in general for 2016 revealed some pretty interesting statistics for the industry as a whole. Marketers spent 20% more year over year on digital advertising during the 3rd quarter of the year which totalled £14.2 billion as per the information that was distributed in the report by the Interactive Advertising Bureau which came out last Wednesday. We had a good read of the document and found some of the points that it highlighted to be very interesting. We think we could be in for yet more spending like for like in 2017. Hopefully, this transcends to our digital advertising vans!

The digital advertising industry as a whole is well on its way to exceeding the ridiculous £48.2 billion that was spent last year and the IAB managed to track the origins of most of this advertising spend. The organisation works with reputable auditor PricewaterhouseCoopers for the bulk of its research. In general, the 4th quarter is historically the highest quarter in terms of digital advertising spending so we will be monitoring these figures closely when they are released.

Overall, things are looking good and we hope that spend continues at this rate in the UK. We have big plans for our digital advertising vans in 2017 as we plan to build upon the success of this year. Mobile and digital video is leading the charge for digital advertising spending and we combine both of these tools together! The IAB advertising report is released each quarter but the company only releases a breakdown of advertising spending every 6 months. Several individuals within the company have expressed their belief that it is almost certain that the figures will reflect that mobile has finally overtaken desktop in digital advert spending. Our digital advertising vans allow for desktop quality ads on a bigger screen but still with the added dimension of being mobile.

Overall, it’s looking pretty bright for the industry in 2017 and we cannot wait to dive in and get started running some innovative digital advertising campaigns.
